15TH CONFERENCE OF THE INTERNATIONAL WORK GROUP FOR PALAEOETHNOBOTANY

Wilhelmshaven, May 31 – June 5, 2010

Organised by Felix Bittmann, Hauke Jöns, Steffen Wolters, Wiebke Kirleis, Angela Kreuz, Walter Dörfler, Manfred Rösch

On behalf of the IWGP committee, the organising committee would like to invite oral and poster presentations based on any aspect of palaeoethnobotany.

The conference is dedicated to K.-E. Behre on occasion of his 75th birthday in 2010. As he is working both on palaeoethnobotany and pollen analysis, pollen analytical contributions in close relation to archaeobotanical studies are also welcome, whereas pure pollen studies will not be accepted.

Oral presentations will have a maximum length of 15 minutes (12 + 3 min for discussion). The conference organisers will select from among the submitted proposals and will schedule the oral and poster presentations according to the proposed sections. Further details on registration fee, payment, excursions, poster format and others will be notified in a 2nd circular.

The registration fee is due to the time of the acceptance of proposals. A full range of accomodation options is available. See list attached.

Abstracts should be sent as text documents (preferably in Word format) by February 15th, 2010 to: nihk@nihk.de, should not exceed one DIN A4 page and should contain a clear description of the topic of the presentation - instructions are given in the attached template. The language of the conference is English.

The Proceedings of the Conference will be published as a special issue of Vegetation History and Archaeobotany, the official organ of the IWGP.
